  Jackie “Jamake Highwater” Marks was hired by VGR’s team to help write Chakotay. Marks being an already-outed fraudster with no actual Native American or First Nations ancestry who learned everything he knew from Hollywood Westerns, this resulted in Chakotay coming out as a horrific mishmash of every stereotype of indigenous Americans Hollywood ever shat out.
