In feel good news from Germany, where Discovery is available on Netflix, the show ranked number one in national streaming charts for series. Discovery episodes have been streamed for more than 8 million times just last week. Disclaimer: Five times are on my tab. Next to it, there are Modern Family (5.96m) and The Big Bang Theory (5.4m). Since entering the top 10 a few weeks ago, streaming numbers of Discovery have been going up. The editor wonders if this could be a “new trekkie boom”. They report on the charts every week. Well, I don’t care much for charts, but I believe that better charts ranking may have saved some of my favorite series in the past.

Oh this is great! I wouldn’t be surprised it’s a new Trekkie Boom. The stories are of this era in the same way TOS and TNG were. They are tackling things never tackled before that are so very relevant. With VOY and DS9, a lot of the stories were just retellings of past episodes from other series. ENT is different because it’s pre-Federation so it’s a bit of a different category.
