A long time ago I found a site dedicated to somewhere called Starbase 24. Very cool, very detailed, but it seemed off. A quick back-of-the-envelope set of calculations (OK, it was actually an Excel spreadsheet) turned into a months-long project, turned into a couple year project.
1200 decks, at 4.5 meters per deck. This gives room for environmental, electrical, etc. to be routed above the ceiling panels and below the deck plates. A graphic in Bryce7 (CGI program) gave me estimates of individual hub sizes.
An environmental hub with two levels gives you more than 2,000 acres of parkland. Not counting the central core building footprint.
The 1200 decks gives you over 600 square kilometers of deck space. I started doing my own layout, and it’ll support nearly 2,000,000 people – without crowding, and with massive (400 square meter) 4 bedroom apartments to house them. Star Trek starbases are HUGE.

First, what you did was very nerdy and I love it!
Second, I need to make the reply, split, etc links bigger becauas the touchpoint are too small on mobile.
Finally, that is a great question. I havs to assume famialies live there between postings and other things.
